Dundrum Notes for 28th March

* The Seniors had their second outing of the season on Saturday evening when they took on Teconnaught at the Rann Road. Final Score: Teconnaught 0-12 Dundrum 1-09. Michael Rooney made a successful transition from Minor to Senior whilst Gary McIllhennon, Peter McVerry, Seamus Garlan and Conor McShane made their starting debuts.

Despite missing a host of first team regulars this was a very encouraging performance. John Hurley, Philip Shields and Gerard Graham did well at the back. Kieran Walsh and Aaron Doyle excelled at midfield whilst in the forwards it was Johnny McMullan, Cathal Kielty and Cormac Venney who stood out.

* Saul are the next opposition on Friday night. The throw-in is scheduled for 6.45pm in Dundrum. Training takes place on Monday and Wednesday with a 7.30pm start each night. All Reserves are also asked to attend.

* Minor training is on Tuesday nights with a 7pm start in Dundrum. U-16 players are asked to come along aswell.

* Saturday morning will see the second phase of games in the U-12 Street League. Players are reminded that training begins at 11am and ends at 12.15pm.

* U-14 training is on Monday nights at 6.30pm sharp.

* John Gibney was on the losing side as the Down U-21's bowed out of the Ulster Championship at the hands of Fermanagh.

* Well done to St Louis, Kilkeel, who have reached the All Ireland Colleges 'B' football final.
