Another virtuoso performance
from Paul McComiskey ensured that Dundrum
picked up their second win in three
games to establish themselves as one
of the contenders for this very competitive
League.
McComiskey was in a
class of his own. Four goals and five
points was his return in a day in which
there was a constant supply of ball
from his peers.
Dundrum did not dominate
the first half as much as they did the
second. Drumaness started brilliantly
and finished the half with six points.
McComiskey (1-04) was Dundrum's sole
score getter. A single point was all
that separated the sides at the break.
The second half was
much more of a one sided affair. McComiskey
added another three goals and a point
and Declan Kavanagh was on hand to find
the net near the end. Marky Cunningham
and young Conall McKee got a point apeice
for the homeside. Drumaness could only
sit back and stare as four further points
came their way.
This was an encouraging
all round team performance by Dundrum.
Shaun Cunningham had a fine hour between
the sticks keeping a clean sheet. The
full back line was mostly dominant with
John Tumelty impressive in the air.
The half back line of Fitzsimons, Kavanagh
and Melville got forward whenever possible
and supported the midfield when needed.
Up front Paul Rooney was in the thick
of the action and received some good
support from Marty Willoughby, Aidan
Rooney and co.
Drumaness had impressive
displays from Murdock at the back, Fox
in midfield and Rainey and McGivern
in attack.
Dundrum will be happy
with this result but stiffer tests are
to come in the shape of Downpatrick
and Teconnaught.
