* The Seniors opening
game of the year saw them taste defeat
at the hands of a rejuvenated Bright
side. The final score: Bright 2-11
Dundrum 1-12.Dundrum had good
performances from Paul Byrne, John
Hurley, Martin McKibbin and Michael
Rooney at the back. In the forwards it
was Martin Coughlin and Paul
McComiskey who were impressive with
some excellent support from Kieran
Walsh and Aaron Doyle.
This Friday night the
team will have to pick themselves up
when they visit St Michaels in
Magheralin. Throw-in time and travel
arrangements will be made available to
the players tonight (Wednesday) at
training which begins at 7pm sharp.
* The Reserves begin
their League camapaign on Sunday
evening. All reserve players should
attend training tonight (Wednesday)
for the match details.
* The Minors venture
to Bredagh tomorrow night (Thursday)
to take on the in form South Belfast
lads. Players should meet at 5.30pm.
Training continues as usual on Monday
nights with a 7.30pm start.
* The U-16's were
beaten by a point by Bright last week
in their first league game. Last night
(Tuesday) they hosted Loughinisland. A
full report will be available next
week.
* The U-14's and
U-12's both lost to Dromara over the
past five days.Training continues on
Monday nights for the U-14's with a
6.30pm start. U-12 Training is from
10.30am to 11.30am on a Saturday
morning.
The U-12's have been
paired with Drumaness in the
Championship. The winner will take on
Bryansford in the first round. The
U-14's have a home tie against
Liatroim in the first round of their
championship.
* Well done to the
U-10's who attended the Blitz at the
RGU a fortnight a go. The successful
team lost out to St Johns but went on
to defeat St Pauls and draw with
Kilclief.
* Dundrum GFC now has
three fully qualified referees. Damien
McConville, Colm Magee and Jenna
Connell have taken up the whistle and
the club are extremely grateful to all
of them for undertaking this task.
* The club would also
like to welcome Neil McLaughlin to the
club after he transferred from
Longstone.
