* This Friday the 2005 Dundrum GFC
Golf Classic will grace the lush turf
of the Downpatrick Golf Club for the
3rd year in succession. A record
number of entrants has been confirmed
and the day should turn out to be a
very enjoyable one. There are still a
few tee off slots available.
Prospective Fourballs can visit
dundrum-clg.com or contact event
organisers Barry Walsh and Paul Byrne
for more information.
* Congratulations to Paul McComiskey,
John Morgan and the rest of the Down
Minor setup after their victory over
Offaly in the All Ireland Semi Finals.
Good luck to the boys for the Final
against Mayo on the 25th of September
in Croke Park.
* Last night (Tuesday) the Seniors
played St Pauls in the Quarter Finals
of the JFC in Downpatrick. A full
report will be available next week.
* There is one remaining Division 4
game left for Dundrum and that is a
home tie against Dromara. A date is
yet to be finalised for this fixture.
* Dundrum have drawn Newry Bosco in
the Semi Finals of the All County
Minor B Football Championship. The
match has been pencilled in for
Wednesday the 7th of September.
However, this could change due to
the Down Minors progress to the All
Ireland Final. In the other Semi
Teconnaught will face either
Ballyholland or Clann Na Banna.
* The U-16's have reached the Final of
the East Down U-16 B Football
Championship. A tremendous 4-14 to
1-07 victory over St Pauls has set up
a tie with favourites Dromara in the
decider which will be staged in
Drumaness. A time and date for this
fixture has yet to be confirmed.
* Thanks to the band of Dundrum and
Ballykinlar supporters who turned up
at Teconnaught for the U-16's match.
It was greatly appreciated by both the
mentors and players. Here's hoping
that an even bigger crowd will be in
attendance at the Final.
