Dundrum GFC Notes

* Bright defeated the Seniors on Friday past on a scoreline of 2-08 to 0-13. This effectively ended Dundrum's promotion hopes.

Forthcoming training schedules and fixture arrangements will be made available to the players tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm at training.

* The Reserves continued their unbeaten run in Section B of the East Down Reserve League with a hard fought win over St Pauls. Kieran Byrne and John McKibben got the goals in the 2-07 to 2-05 victory. There were excellent performances from Marc Cunningham, Chris Hogg and Barry Walsh.

For forthcoming match details contact either Philip McGrattan or Liam McKibben

* The Minors easily accounted for Gael Sliabh Crub (St Johns/Dromara) last week in their penultimate League game on a scoreline of 2-12 to 1-04. Paul Rooney and Paul McComiskey got the goals in a match which failed to set hearts racing. The home team had superb performances from Marc Cunningham and Declan Kavanagh.
Drumaness await in the final game of the League campaign. A date for this fixture has yet to be arranged. Tonight (Wednesday) the Minors take on Kilclief in the first round of the B Championship with a 7.30pm throw-in.

* The U-16's did not have a game last week but on Tuesday past they hosted St Pauls in the League. A full report will be available next week.

This Tuesday (21/6/05) the team were supposed to face Darragh Cross. However, Darragh have pulled out of the League so a training session will be held instead. Dundrum players should meet at 6.15pm while Ballykinlar players should assemble for 6.30pm.

* The U-14's produced their best performance of the year to overcome a much bigger but less skillful Saul team last Thursday on a scoreline of 3-12 to 2-02.
Aaron O'Hare grabbed two first half goals while Paddy Curry hit the second half three pointer.
In what was a terrific team performance with every player giving their all, Kieran Carville, Conall McKee, Brendan Cunningham, Ryan Carville and Caolan Fitzpatrick starred.

* The U-12's suffered defeat at the hands of St Pauls on Sunday. This week they travel to Dromara for a 5pm throw-in.

The U-10's continue to improve with every outing at the East Down Blitzes. Last week they ventured to Liatroim and after losing to Bright they recorded superb victories over the B team offerings from Teconnaught and Carryduff. Well done to all involved!

* Minor Shane Kavanagh created history on the 8th of June when he became the first Dundrum player to register a score on the newly erected state of the art scoreboard.
