* Paul McComiskey and
Conor McShane did themselves and their
club extremely proud when they turned
out for Down Minors in their opening
Ulster Minor League match against Tyrone
in Pairc Esler on Saturday. Paul started
at No.15 and played a decent 1st half
whilst in the 2nd he had a part to play
in the Down goal. Conor was named on
the substitutes list. It was great to
see the large Dundrum contingent who
attended the game to give their support
to the two lads.
* The Seniors played their third challenge
game in the space of three weeks but
unfortunately they went down by four
points to Division 3 side Banbridge.
The final scoreline: Dundrum 0-12 Banbridge
0-16. Dundrum scorers: C.Venney (0-04,
1 Free), J. Hurley (0-02), K.Walsh (0-02),
A.Doyle (0-01), C.Kielty (0-01), P.Doran
(0-01), K.Byrne (0-01).
Training continues on Wednesday and
Friday nights at 7.30pm. In the Junior
Championship Dundrum have drawn Aghaderg
in the Preliminary Round. If they can
overcome this test they will face St
Pauls in the quarter finals. Meanwhile,
the Reserves were paired with Liatroim
3rds in the opening round of their championship.
If they progress they will play the
winners of the Darragh Cross/Glenn game.
* The Minors lost their first game of
the season to Loughinisland on Sunday.

* On Sunday afternoon the U-16 footballers
from Dundrum and Ballykinlar joined
forces under the name of Ballykinlar
on the pitch for the first time against
South Down opposition Drumgath in a
challenge game. With two training sessions
under their belt the lads put in a magnificent
and classy performance to beat Drumgath
on a scoreline of 1-06 to 1-04.
In what was a total team effort, 23
players got a runout and it looks like
the management will have some serious
headaches in selecting a team for future
games.
