* The U-21 players of Dundrum,
Ballykinlar and Aughlisnafin
have joined forces for the
forthcoming East Down U-21
Championship. Taking the team
this year will be John McShane (Dundrum),
Paddy Doherty (Ballykinlar),
Paul Reynolds (Ballykinlar) and
Joe Scullion (Aughlisnafin).
The team had their third
session on Sunday morning in
Ballykinlar. Another session
will be held under lights
tomorrow night (Thursday) in
Dundrum with all players
expected to be on the pitch
for 7pm sharp. Then on Sunday
the lads will play their first
match against the winner of
the Saul/Bright v Cnoc I Drinn
game. Whatever the outcome the
panel will be playing away and
the match will start at 12pm.
Therefore Dundrum players
should meet at 10.30am outside
Brennan's new shop while
Ballykinlar players should
meet at their club for
10.45am.

and the opening match:

* The Club's Dinner Dance will
be held on Friday night in the
Slieve Donard Hotel. The meal
will start at 7.30pm sharp so
Flynns should be vacated by
the usual mob no later than
7pm. Special guest will be
current Down Senior footballer
Daniel Hughes. Anybody who has
not yet booked their place
should contact any committee
member ASAP. Tickets can be
paid for on the night.
* Good luck to Declan Kavanagh
(St Colman's, Newry) and the
duo of Paul Rooney and Richard
Fitzsimons (both St Patrick's,
Downpatrick) for their
respective MacRory and
McLarnon Cup games over this
coming weekend.
* Paul McComiskey played a
starring role for the Queens
Fresher's team last week as he
popped over six points to
secure a draw with arch rivals
Jordanstown in the Freshers
League.
