Dundrum Notes: April 12th 2007

* The Seniors begin their League campaign with a tough home tie against Tullylish on Friday night. Then on Monday they travel to old foes Saul. Therefore, to get the Seniors a bit of match practice there will be a training game tonight (Wednesday) between the Seniors and the Reserves beginning at 7.30pm sharp.

* The Reserves completed their pre-season campaign with a 3-11 to 0-09 defeat to the recently reformed Bryansford III's. Incidentally during the game young Dale Campbell became one of the youngest players ever to line out for an adult Dundrum team.

This Sunday sees the beginning of the League campaign when Bredagh will visit for a 7pm throw-in. All Dundrum players should meet at 5.45pm.

* The Minors face Glasdrumman in a pre-season friendly tonight (Wednesday) in Ballykinlar. The game has a 7.15pm throw-in. The Minors begin their League campaign against a very strong Dromara/Liatroim amalgamation next Wednesday.

* The U-16's kick off their League programme this Tuesday with a difficult away trip to Ballynoe where they will face League favourites Bright.

* The U-16's and Minors now train together in Ballykinlar on a Thursday night with a 7pm start. Dundrum players are to meet at their clubrooms for 6.30pm.

* The U-14's continue to train on a Monday night in Ballykinlar with a 7pm start. Thomas McShane has requested that all U-14 players should meet at the clubrooms for 6.45pm.

* U-12, U-10, U-8 and U-6 training is as usual on a Friday evening with a 6pm start. Due to the large numbers of children attending the Youth committee have adopted a policy of one mentor to every eight children. This means that at every session from now on there will be seven mentors in attendance, namely Eamon Hogg, Paddy Doran, Martin Walsh, Eamon Fegan, Danny McGrattan, David Campbell and Barry Walsh. All these coaches are fully qualified at Foundation Level and all hold Child Protection certificates. Also, at every session there are at least two fully qualified First Aiders present in the event of any accidents.

* This Sunday the U-12's travel to Dromara for the first installment of the 2007 Go Games programme.

* There will be a committee meeting tomorrow night (Thursday) at 7.30pm in the clubrooms.
