Dundrum Notes 24th August 2007
Dundrum
GFC Club Notes
* The Seniors
hosted Glenn on
Friday night in
their penultimate
Division 3 League
game. In an entertaining
matchup the Duns
won through 0-19
to 3-05. Friday
the 31st of August
will see the last
League game take
place before the
Promotion Playoffs
begin. This fixture
is an away tie
against Ardglass.
* Tomorrow night
(Thursday) the
Seniors will make
the short trip
over to Drumnaquoile
to take on Darragh
Cross in the Quarter
Finals of the
IFC. The match
is due to start
at 6.45pm so all
players should
meet in Dundrum
for 5.30pm. A
big support for
the lads would
be very much appreciated.
* The U-16's faced
Saul last night
(Tuesday) in their
final League game.
To date the young
guns have won
12 out of their
13 matches and
a win last night
will have secured
the title.
On Saturday all
attention will
be focused on
the Championship
as the team face
Ardglass in Loughinisland
at 11am in the
Semi Finals of
the East Down
B Football Championship.
Again a sizeable
support from both
clubs would be
very much welcome.
* The U-14's had
a recent win over
Ardglass but then
they tasted defeat
against Kilclief.
Tomorrow night
(Thursday) the
side will travel
to Dromara for
a 7.15pm throw-in.
* Friday sees
the return of
our Annual Golf
Classic in Downpatrick.
With the majority
of tee-time slots
allocated any
latecomers should
contact Paul Byrne
or Barry Walsh
ASAP to reserve
a slot. All those
involved in the
Golf Classic are
reminded that
the presentations
will take place
in the Tonn Ruray
on Friday night
and with a large
crowd expected,
patrons are advised
to come early.
* The club's Sportsday
has been arranged
for Saturday the
1st of September.
Also, the club
are hosting a
play the same
night in the Parochial
Hall. For details
of both events
contact any committee
member.
