Dundrum GFC Club Notes

* The Seniors secured their third victory in a row when they defeated Tullylish by four points in Laurencetown on Friday night. The final score was: Tullylish 0-07  Dundrum 2-05.

There will be training tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm. All players must be at the changing rooms for 7.15pm.

The next scheduled match for the Seniors is this Friday against Saul in Dundrum. However, this fixture is subject to change. Confirmation on this will be made by the club secretary no later than Wednesday night.

* Good luck to Paul McComiskey and the rest of the Down Senior team for Sunday when they take on Monaghan in the Quarter Finals of the USFC in Newry. Also, best wishes go to Paul's younger brother David who will be lining out for the Down Primary School's football team at halftime. David becomes the third Sacred Heart player in as many years to line out for the Primary Schools team. Last year Conn Rooney was involved in the setup while two years ago Rory Kavanagh represented his county.

* The Reserves drew with Drumaness at home on Sunday evening. In a very tight game both teams ended up with 1-08 apeice. Dundrum team and scorers: D.Campbell, M.McKibbin, D.McGrattan, B.Walsh, B.Cunningham, M.Murray, R.McKibbin, J.McKibben (0-01), P.Doran (0-02), S.McGrattan (0-01), M.Fitzsimons (0-01), J.Barr, P.Smyth (0-02), R.Smyth (0-01), P.McGrattan (1-00).  Subs: J.Tumelty, P.King, P.Byrne, NJ McLaughlin.

The next scheduled match for the Reserves is away to Liatroim III's on the 24th of June. In the interim it is imperative that as many Reserve players as possible attend Senior training.

* For the second week in a row the Minors failed to field. This time they couldn't get the numbers to travel to Cherryvale to take on Bredagh. Tonight (Wednesday) they are scheduled to play Teconnaught in Ballykinlar at 7.30pm. A big effort by all is required if the team is to field. Dundrum players are to meet at the changing rooms at 6pm.

* The U-16's held a training session last week as they had no fixture. Last night (Tuesday) they hosted Darragh Cross/Killyleagh in Ballykinlar. Next Tuesday they take on League leaders Saul in another home game in Ballykinlar at 7.30pm.

* The U-14's host Dromara tomorrow night (Thursday) in Ballykinlar at 7.30pm in a re-scheduled League game.

* The U-12's faced Ardglass on Sunday past while the club hosted it's first U-10 Go Games tournament on Saturday. Dundrum manged to field two teams while the other clubs involved included Bright, Ardglass and Ballykinlar.

* The CUL Camp forms are now being circulated amongst the juveniles. These camps are a great way for juveniles aged between 7 and 13 years of age to spend a fun week enhancing their skills. The cost is £30 per child, and £25 for every additional child in a family. This price allows the children to receive coaching from some of the county's top coaches and footballers, and also includes a whole kit. Anyone who has not yet received a form but wishes for their child or children to attend, contact Eamon Hogg ASAP to receive a form.
* By Christmas of this year PRO Mark Fitzsimons wants to complete a revised version of the club's history. At the moment the history is sketchy and has huge gaps in it. Anybody who has memorabilia or snippets of information regarding any aspect of the club covering any period of time can contact me through my email address: marc_mac_siomoin@yahoo.co.uk .

* There will be a committee meeting this Monday night in the club rooms at 7.30pm.
