Pride of place this
week goes to Paul
McComiskey who picked
up a Sigerson Cup
medal with Queens
University, Belfast.
In the Semi-Final on
Friday afternoon
against Cork IT, Paul
bagged 1-01 to help
the hosts progress to
Saturday's Final with
arch rivals UUJ. The
Final itself was an
extremely tense affair
and it took extra time
to separate the teams.
Paul played the entire
game and worked his
socks off aswell as
grabbing himself a
point.
Everybody at Dundrum
GFC would like to
congratulate Paul and
also wish him luck for
Wednesday (today) when
the Queens Freshers
take on DCU in the
Semi Finals of the All
Ireland Freshers
Championship.
Incidentally Paul is
the first Dundrum
player since Martin
Carey to win a
Sigerson medal.
Funnily enough when
Martin won his the
number on the back of
his shirt was 32. This
was the same number
that Paul had on his
shirt at the weekend.
Strange indeed.

present. Due to the
inclement weather the
Senior's friendly was
cancelled on Sunday.
However, friendlies
have been arranged
against Eire Og,
Collegeland,
Annaghmore,
Glasdrumman and St
Eunans for the
forthcoming month.
* A
payment of £5 for the
Swiss Ball is to be
made ASAP to John
Morgan.

Commiserations to Paul
Rooney and Richard
Fitzsimons as the Red
High bowed out of the
O'Doherty Cup at the
Semi Final stage to
Our Lady's,
Castleblayney. The
Monaghan school
emerged victorious by
four points. It is
very disappointing to
see a school of the
stature of the Red
High competing in what
is effectively a
Colleges 'C'
competition. Hopefully
in the next few years
we will see a long
awaited return to
MacRory Cup football
for the Maroons.
