Dundrum Notes 25th May 2007

Notes.

* There was mixed fortunes for Dundrum's Down contingent on Sunday. On the plus side Paul McComiskey helped the Seniors through to the Quarter Finals of the USFC as he bagged two points in the last ten minutes to cement a 0-15 to 0-11 win for Ross Carr's men. On the down side the Minors exited the UMFC at the last eight stage when they lost out to Monaghan by two points on a 1-06 to 2-01 scoreline. Hard luck to John Morgan and Declan Kavanagh.

* The Seniors drew with Glenn on Friday night on a 2-09 to 2-09 scoreline. On Monday night they took on St Pauls while they will face Bright and Bredagh at home on Friday and Sunday respectively.

Training will be held tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm. It is absolutely imperative that all Reserve players attend training as they have a match against Bryansford III's at 7pm on Sunday.

* The Minors face the unenvious task of taking on Saval in the 1st Round of the MFC tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm in Ballykinlar. Dundrum players are to meet for 6pm.

* The U-16's got themselves another win last week when they easily defeated Kilclief 9-07 to 3-07. Last night (Tuesday) they took on League leaders St Johns. At this moment there is no game scheduled for next week.

* Good luck to Rory Kavanagh and the rest of the St Colman's, Newry, team for the Dalton Cup Final against St Patrick's, Dungannon, which will take place this week.

* The U-14's entered the B Championship last week after suffering a defeat to Carryduff in the A. Tomorrow night (Thursday) the team will travel to Kilclief in the League for a 7.30pm throw-in.

* The U-12's host Ardglass in the Go Games at 12pm on Sunday. Training continues as usual on Friday evening at 5.30pm.

* By Christmas of this year PRO Mark Fitzsimons wants to complete a revised version of the club's history. At the moment the history is sketchy and has huge gaps in it. Anybody who has memorabilia or snippets of information regarding any aspect of the club covering any period of time can contact me through my email address: marc_mac_siomoin@yahoo.co.uk.
