Dundrum GFC
The seniors
played an entertaining
challenge at
home on Friday
against Carryduff.
The South Belfast
side, managed
by former Antrim
boss PJ O'Hare
ran out winners
by a few points.
John McShane's
men, minus a
number of regulars
were slow to
start and ultimately
paid the price.
However they
can take heart
from an encouraging
second-half
fightback capped
by a goal from
the ever-improving
Conall McKee
and some impressive
long range points
from Kieran
Walsh.
The Seconds
were at home
on Sunday evening
and were beaten
by St Paul's.
Best for Dundrum
were Eamon King
in goals who
pulled off a
series of top-class
saves Chris
Hogg who bagged
five points
and flying winghalf
Richard Fitzsimmons.
Training for
all adult teams
continues as
normal this
week.
The first senior
fixture of the
season has been
rearranged from
the 18th to
the 23rd of
this month.
The fixtures
should now be
on the website
though are subject
to change.
Good luck to
our senior player
Paul McComiskey
when he lines
out for Down
U-21's this
weekend in Navan
as they seek
to build on
their Ulster
title. Any club
members free
should go along
to support Paul
and his team-mates.
Anyone who still
has to pick
up any club
merchandise
should call
and see Ollie
Forsythe as
soon as possible.
Tickets are
still available
for the club
raceday on may
10. Contact
any committee
member.
The next committee
meeting is on
April 21 at
7.30pm
A Cul Camp will
again be hosted
by the club
during July.
Anyone interested
should contact
Paddy Doran
to add their
name.
The club U-12
time lost on
Sunday morning
to a strong
Drumaness side.
Among those
who did well
for Dundrum
were the full
back line of
Edel McGrattan,
Sanctan Byrne
and Didier Curry
while the forwards
tried hard ably
supported by
midfielders
David and Aidan.
Thanks to all
those who turned
up on Saturday
morning for
the tidy-up
of the grounds.
Finally the
club would like
to express their
sympathy to
the Doherty
family and all
their friends
and fellow Gaels
in Ballykinlar
on the tragic
death of Francie
Doherty.
