Dundrum Club Notes - 11th August 2008

Seniors and Reserves
The Seniors lost heavily to Warrenpoint on Monday night despite a promising start. Their game versus Ballymartin scheduled for Thursday night was postponed due to a death in the Ballymartin club (It has been refixed for the 25th of August). Next Sunday, the Seniors take on Bredagh in the Intermediate Championship in Loughinisland – the throw-in time has been changed to 5pm. The Reserves take on Teconnaught at home on Sunday. Training for all seniors, reserves and minors will take place on Wednesday and Friday this week at 7.30pm sharp.

Juveniles
The U12s beat St Johns 3-16 to 1-04 in their last League game on Sunday. They have drawn St Pauls in the Championship. The U14s were due to play Liatroim in the semi-finals of the East Down B Championship on Saturday but this was postponed. The game took place on Monday night in Dundrum instead. The U16 game was called off on Tuesday night and the minors had no game last week. Last night the U-16's took on Saul in the Semi Finals of the Championship while tonight (Wednesday) the Minors entertain Ardglass.

Golf Classic
The club held its annual Golf Classic on Friday and it was yet again very successful. The prizewinners were as follows:
1st – K Burns's team (Glasdrumman)
2nd – W Baggley's team (Bright)
3rd – E Hogg’s team (Dundrum)
Longest Drive – Kevin Burns (Glasdrumman)
Closest to the Pin – Willie Fitzpatrick (Bright)

Club History
The club will be holding an open meeting in the Parish Centre on Thursday 14th August at 7.30pm to discuss how best to commemorate next years 75th Anniversary. All club members with an interest or information on the club’s history are encouraged to attend

Club Grounds Tidy Up
There will be a tidy up of the club grounds on Saturday 16th August at 10am and if any club member is willing to volunteer their services it would be much appreciated.

Committee Meeting
The next committee meeting will take place on Monday 18th August in the clubrooms at 7.30pm.

Condolences
The club would like to express its condolences to the McGreevy family on the death of Maura Fitzpatrick on Thursday.

Cross Community Sports Day
The club will be running a cross community Sports Day on Saturday the 23rd of August in conjunction with the Dundrum festival. Anyone interested in helping should contact Kieran McKibben
