Club Notes
* The past week
has seen some
hugely encouraging
developments
in our underage
sector. Both
the U-14's and
U-16's have
reached B Championship
Finals.
On Monday night
the U-14's disposed
of Liatroim
on a 7-16 to
1-02 scoreline.
The team showed
massive improvement
from their Quarter
Final win over
Loughinisland.
Ardglass await
in the Final
and this game
is provisionally
set for Saturday
the 30th of
August.
The U-16's were
in action last
Tuesday and
they came through
against Saul,
winning 5-10
to 1-08. Saul
had beaten the
U-16's twice
in the League
this year but
St Joe's played
some superb
stuff to advance
to the Final.
In the Quarter
Finals the team
defeated Ardglass.
The decider
will take place
this Saturday
in Loughinisland
at 12 noon.
The opponents
will be either
Cill Darach
or St Johns.
Incidentally
7 of the U-14
panel are on
the U-16 team
while 9 of the
U-16's will
be looking to
retain the Championship
that they won
last year.
Match reports
for both games
can be viewed
on the website,
dundrum-clg.com.
Good luck to
both teams!
* The Seniors
miserable season
got worse on
Sunday when
they were dumped
out of the IFC
at the first
hurdle at the
hands of Bredagh.
The Belfast
side won out
on a 2-14 to
1-09 scoreline.
Next up is a
trip to Shamrocks
on Friday night.
Throw-in is
7pm.
* The Reserves
take on Saul
tonight (Wednesday).
Throw-in is
7pm at St Patrick's
Park. All players
should meet
for 6pm. The
2nds will travel
to St Johns
on Sunday for
another re-arranged
game. Any queries
should be forwarded
to Peter McCormick
and Paddy Doherty.
* On Thursday
night the U-14's
returned to
League action
and had a big
7-20 to 2-08
victory over
St Johns. Tomorrow
night (Thursday)
Liatroim will
travel to Ballykinlar.
* The U-12's
played a fantastic
Championship
game with St
Pauls on Sunday.
The game finished
1-06 apeice
at full time.
St Pauls were
the stronger
in extra time
and they eventually
won 2-09 to
1-06 after an
additional 20
minutes.
The U-12's now
enter the B
Championship.
* The club will
be running a
cross community
Sports Day on
Saturday in
conjunction
with the Dundrum
festival. Anyone
interested in
helping should
contact Kieran
McKibben.
