Dundrum Club Notes - 18th February 2008


* The Seniors picked up their second victory of their pre-season campaign when they overcame Teconnaught by 7 points at Annacloy on Sunday. The game finished: Teconnaught 1-06 Dundrum 1-13.
The Reserves were also in action but they they lost out by 3 points to Teconnaught's second string. The final score: Teconnaught 1-11 Dundrum 1-08.
Training continues on Tuesdays and Fridays and all Reserve panellists are expected to attend at least one of these sessions.
Next up for the Seniors is Rostrevor this Sunday. Details of the game will made available to the player's on Friday night. A Reserve game will take place aswell before the Senior matchup against Rostrevor 2nds.
* Well done to Paul McComiskey for scoring Down's winning point against Louth on Sunday in the NFL. Paul also scored 4 points for the Queens Sigerson team in their 1 point win over NUIG during the week.
* Juvenile training for children from Primary 4 age up is on Friday nights from 6pm to 7.30pm sharp in the Parochial Hall.
* Membership for the coming season is now due for all club members and players at the following rates:
Senior - £25
Juvenile (Single) - £5
Juvenile (Family – 2 or more kids) - £10
These must be paid for insurance purposes and can be given to any manager or committee member.
* The club will hold a Drug and Alcohol Awareness Night tonight (Wednesday) at 7pm in the Parish Centre. Attendance is compulsory for all players from the age of 14 and upwards, and anyone else interested in coming along is more than welcome to do so.
* Work is continuing on the Strength and Conditioning Room every Saturday and the club is appealing for any tradesmen and volunteers who would be willing to help out to get in touch with Ollie Forsythe for details on how they can be of use.
* An order for new club gear will be made in the coming month and to facilitate this there will be a sample display of gear in the mineral bar of the Parochial Hall on Friday 22nd February at 7.15pm. Orders for gear will be taken at this time.
