Dundrum Club Notes - 4th February 2008

* Training for all Senior, Reserve and Minor players will take place on Friday and Tuesday of this week. On Friday night the Parochial Hall will be the venue while on Tuesday all players should come prepared for indoor and outdoor activities.

On Sunday the Seniors will take on Glasdrumman in their first pre-season friendly. The game will take place at the Quarter Road with a 12pm throw-in. All Dundrum players should meet at Brennans for 10.30pm.

* The Reserve management for 2008 has been confirmed and will see Philip McGrattan return for his second spell in charge. Philip will be assisted by Martin Coughlan, Paddy Doran and Peter McCormick.
* Juvenile training for children from Primary 4 age and upwards begins on Friday 8th February from 6pm to 7.30pm sharp in the Parochial Hall.
* Membership for the coming season is now due for all club members and players at the following rates:
Senior - £25
Juvenile (Single) - £5
Juvenile (Family – 2 or more kids) - £10
These must be paid for insurance purposes and can be given to any manager or committee member.
* The club will hold a Drug and Alcohol Awareness Night on Wednesday 20th February at 7pm in the Parish Centre. Attendance is compulsory for all players from the age of 14 and upwards, and anyone else interested in coming along is more than welcome to do so.
* The club is continuing work on its Strength and Conditioning Room every Saturday and would appeal for any tradesmen and volunteers who would be willing to help out to get in touch with Ollie Forsythe for details on how they can be of use.
* An order for new club gear will be made in the coming month and to facilitate this there will be a sample display of gear in the mineral bar of the Parochial Hall on Friday 22nd February at 7.15pm. Orders for gear will be taken at this time.
* The Senior team wish John Hurley a speedy recovery from the nasty injury (dented pride) he suffered at the hands of Aaron Doyle during Sunday's Rugby game at training. Players are reminded that there are numerous gyms in the area and that a bit of weights work may prevent similar injuries re-occuring. Here's hoping for a quick return to action for John and lets hope we will see him at a gym sometime in the future to bulk up that frame of his. By the way Aaron, great tackle
