Dundrum Club Notes - 09th June 08

* The Seniors fell by five points to Kilclief on Friday night at St Malachy's Park. The final score: Kilclief 1-16 Dundrum 2-08.

Training takes place tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm sharp. With most exams coming to an end, all Minor players should be in attendance.

Tomorrow night (Thursday), the team will travel to Downpatrick to take on the Hoops. Throw-in is 7.30pm.

* The Reserves travel to Holywood on Sunday to face St Pauls. Players should meet at 5.15pm for a 7pm throw-in. All those Senior team players who are not listed in the Top 13 have to tog out.

* The Minors fell by a point last week to Teconnaught in the League. The final score: St Josephs 1-08 Teconnaught 1-09.

Tonight (Wednesday) the team will travel to Darragh Cross to face Cill Darach. A bus will be leaving Dundrum at 5.45pm sharp.

* The U-16's were defeated by Saul last week. Next Tuesday they travel to Loughinisland.

* The U-14's had no game last week. Tomorrow night (Thursday), St Pauls will travel to Dundrum for a 7.30pm throw-in.

* The U-12's are back in action on Sunday when they will visit Carryduff 'B' with 12 noon being the throw-in time.

* Paul McComiskey and his Down teamates live to fight another day after the Dundrum man scored a last minute equalising point to earn his county a replay this Saturday night in Newry. Good luck to all involved!

* Despite putting in a tremendous effort, the Down Minors crashed out to Tyrone on Sunday before the Senior game. The result was a hammer blow to team coach John Morgan who put a lot of effort in to training the team.

The club have been extremely proud of John over the past four years with his involvement with the Down Minors and everyone was extremely dissapointed to see the team defeated.

* David McComiskey and Aidan Fegan lined out for the St Patrick's, Downpatrick, 1st year team who finished 3rd at the Ulster Colleges Year 8 Blitz on Saturday. David played some excellent football from centre-half forward while Aidan proved to be an excellent target man at full forward.

* There will be a clean-up at the pitch this Saturday at 10am. As many club members as possible should make themselves available to help.

* The next committee meeting will take place on Monday the 16th of June at 7.30pm in the clubrooms.

* This Saturday's car boot team comprises Marc Cunningham, Conall McKee and John McKibben.

* The club will host another CUL Camp this summer from the 14-18th July. Forms for this will be given out at juvenile training and Croke Park has set the cost at £30 per child. Paddy Doran is this year’s co-ordinator and for further information he can be contacted on 07729860914.
