Glasdrumman loose by a
point to neighbours Longstone
South Down - NBS U16 FL: Glasdrumman 0-13 Longstone 1-11

TThe U-16's opened their season on Thursday night when they played host to neighbours Longstone. Glasdrumman went in with a commanding lead at half time with a great goal from Paul Grant and seven points from Connaire Harrison having got a great supply of ball from the midfielders where Art McCartan especially had an excellent game. The second half started with a point from substitute Andrew Doran. However in the last fifteen minutes Longstone came back into the game with Will Lowry coming to the rescue on several occasions but despite the best efforts of the Glasdrumman players Longstone ran out winners by a single point. Overall this was an excellent performance from Glasdrumman in a game which they should have won but hopefully they can learn from this defeat and go on to greater things in the forthcoming matches.

Glasdrumman: Will Lowry, Christopher Cassidy, John McAteer, Lee Harrison, Ryan Doran, Christopher McDowell, Sean McVeigh, Arthur McCartan, Stefan McGuiness, Darren Joyce, Paul Grant, James McDowell, Sean Cunningham, Connaire Harrison, Nathan McCracken.

Subs: Andrew Doran for Sean Cunningham, Gavin McCracken, Eddie Conway, Paul McCavery, Mark Doran.

** Our thanks go to The Galley in Annalong who very kindly sponsored the match ball for the U-16 match with Longstone

** It proved to be a good week for the rest of the underage players who are amalgamated with Atticall with the U-12's beating An Riocht on Sunday, The U-14's also beating An Riocht on Tuesday and the minors beating Warrenpoint on Wednesday.

** This week sees the first of the Mourne derby matches for the seniors when they travel to Atticall on Friday night while Ballymartin are the visitors to the Quarter Road for the second Mourne derby on Monday night, We wish them well in both.
