The U-16s played their third league
match at the Quarter Road on Tuesday
night. Glasdrumman dominated the
opening period with the
ever-improving Paul Grant producing
a great display of high fielding in
midfield. An improved performance
from Connaire Harrison, saw him back
to his best form, scoring at ease
and showing an ability to give good
passes to his fellow team-mates when
they were free. Mark Doran, Paul
McCaffrey and Stefan Magennis linked
up well for a few scores. Colm
Grant scored the goal of the game
with a great solo and effort and
awareness to put his shot past the
brave oncoming Bosco keeper. In the
second half, Glasdrumman continued
to dominate with great displays by
Darren Joyce, Martin McGrath and
Jamie Carroll. Ryan Doran and James
McDowell made a few good runs from
defence, with Ryan scoring a goal
through a fortunate lob and a couple
of well-taken points to show he can
score! Bosco tackled hard throughout
and showed some good passing, which
finished with Glasdrumman being
forced to concede a free kick, which
Bosco converted. Nathan McCracken,
Dale Grant, Daniel Rooney and Connor
Stevenson got into the thick of the
action when coming on as subs.
Nathan scored a great point after
good work from Colm Grant. All
players will be needed in the
forthcoming weeks as we have some
difficult games ahead. But, with
the good team spirit shown so far,
the team should do well.
