Glasdrumman 2-10  Teconnaught 1-07

Sunday saw the visit of Teconnaught to the Quarter Road as the league season resumed after the holiday break. Glasdrumman started the stronger and were a point ahead within a minute from the boot of Cormac Murphy. However Teconnaught levelled the game two minutes later with a point from corner forward Connor Brennan. This seemed to settle the visitors and they added  a further three points without reply in the next ten minutes with scores from Gary Fitzsimons, Brian Flanagan and Domnic Mulholland. In the fifteenth minute Cormac Murphy added a second point to his personal tally and two minutes later he added a third score, this time finding the back of the Teconnaught net to restore the Glasdrumman lead. However the lead was short lived as Connor Brennan converted two frees in the twentieth and the twenty third minute to restore put Teconnaught back in front. However Glasdrumman started to find their rhythm and finished the half the stronger with points from Cormac Murphy, Raymond Magorrian and Pat Mallon to leave the halftime score Glasdrumman 1-5 Teconnaught 0-6.

Cormac Murphy opened the scoring in the second half, as he had in the first, with a point after three minutes to further stretch the Glasdrumman lead. This was to be the pattern of the second half as Glasdrumman started to dominate the game and within fifteen minutes they had increased their lead by a further three points, all from the boot of Raymond Magorrian. In the twentieth minute a high dropping ball found the fist of substitute Paul McDowell and he made no mistake directing the ball to the Teconnaught net for Glasdrumman’s second goal of the game. Cormac Murphy added another point five minutes later before Seamus Madine burst through from midfield to pull one back for Teconnaught. With time up on the clock the referee awarded a penalty to Teconnaught which Seamus Madine gratefully despatched to the Glasdrumman net, despite the best efforts of Ronan McDowell to leave the full time score Glasdrumman 2-10 Teconnaught 1-07.
