Drumaness 0-10 Glasdrumman 2-12
On Thursday night Glasdrumman made
the journey to Drumaness in an
effort to maintain their position as
Division 3 league leaders. Drumaness
drew first blood with a point inside
a minute from N McAleenan. The
Drumaness lead however was short
lived as Raymond Magorrian sent over
two points within a minute to settle
the Glasdrumman attack. Eleven
minutes into the game Cormac Murphy
collected a high ball, turned his
defender and planted the ball past
Paddy Savage for a well taken goal.
Raymond Magorrian and Daniel
McCartan further extended the
Glasdrumman lead before Conor Walsh
got his name on the score sheet with
a point in the twentieth minute for
Drumaness. Drumaness full forward
Paul Gilgunn added another point a
minute later but this was quickly
cancelled by a Cormac Murphy point
for Glasdrumman which he quickly
followed with another point from a
forty five. Conairre Harrison got
his name on the score sheet for
Glasdrumman after some clever play
in the twenty fourth minute. A
minute later Cormac Murphy again had
the ball in the Drumaness net for
his second goal of the game. The
last score of the half fell to
Drumaness as S McCoy pointed to
leave the halftime score Drumaness
0-4 Glasdrumman 2-7.
Conor Walsh pulled two points back
for Drumaness within four minutes
of the restart before Cormac
Murphy’s first point of the second
half after eight minutes. A minute
later centre half forward McAleenan
got his second point of the game for
Drumaness but Glasdrumman quickly
responded with points from Raymond
Magorrian and Cormac Murphy within
two minutes. Conor Walsh added
another point for Drumaness in the
thirteenth minute but again
Glasdrumman responded through
Raymond Magorrian within five
minutes. Paul Gilgunn added a
further point in the twenty fourth
minute for Drumaness but this was
quickly cancelled out by a Martin
O’Neill point a minute later. The
last score of the game came in the
twenty ninth minute from the boot of
Paul Gilgunn to leave the full time
score Drumaness 0-10 Glasdrumman
2-12.
This was a good overall team
performance from Glasdrumman against
a Drumaness side which they had
comprehensively beaten at home
earlier in the season. The defence
generally contained the Drumaness
forwards reasonably well. Midfield
kept the forwards well supplied with
the ball and the forwards always
looked dangerous and capable of
scoring any time they were in
possession..
