Glasdrumman Notes
Glasdrumman lose out in Glenn
Friday night saw Glasdrumman make
the journey to Glenn in search of
points to make their position in
Division 2 a bit safer. While Glenn
has never be a very successful
hunting ground over the years it was
Glasdrumman who started the stronger
with a second minute point from Colm
Carr. However Glenn equaliser came
six minutes later but Glasdrumman
were quick to restore their lead
when Martin O’Neill pointed in the
tenth minute. Two points in a five
minute spell gave Glenn the lead for
the first time in the match but
again Glasdrumman’s response was
swift as Mark Trimble ran on to a
through ball to hit the Glenn net.
This was quickly followed by a point
from Pat Mallon to leave Glasdrumman
with a three point cushion. A
further two points from Glenn and a
Glasdrumman point from Raymond
Clarke left the halftime score Glenn
0-05 Glasdrumman 1-04.Glasdrumman
were again first to score in the
second half when Brian Burns pointed
in the first minute but two quick
points from Glenn reduced the
defecit to a single point. A
thirteenth minute score from Cormac
Murphy put two points between the
sides but then disaster struck. A
high dropping ball dropped between
the full forward and goalkeeper and
the Glenn man got his fist to the
ball to deflect it into the
Glasdrumman net to give Glen a
single point lead. Cormac Murphy
levelled the game in the twenty
seventh minute but Glenn finished
the stronger with two points to
leave the final score Glenn 1-09
Glasdrumman 1-07.
