John Brennan
Monday’s
night visitors to the Quarter Road
were Glenn, last year’s runners-up
in Division 3. Glen started with a
flurry and were three points up
after twelve minutes with
Glasdrumman finding it hard to get
their rhythm going. Nineteen minutes
into the game Martin O’Neill
registered Glasdrumman’s first
score. This seemed to settle the
home side and Connaire Harrison and
Raymond Magorrian quickly added
points apiece to leave the game all
square with six minutes to go to
half time. A minute later Raymond
Magorrian got on the end of a high
dropping ball from Shaun Brennan
punching the ball to the net to
leave the half time score
Glasdrumman 1-3 Glenn 0-3. Straight
from the throw in the ball ended up
with Raymond Magorrian and he made
no mistake with a well taken point.
Connaire Harrison added his second
point five minutes later and this
was quickly followed by a Cormac
Murphy point to further extend the
Glasdrumman lead. A minute later the
ball fell to Raymond Magorrian and
he tucked the ball into the Glenn
net for his second goal of the game.
This seemed to totally demoralise
Glenn and they allowed Glasdrumman
to totally dominate the remainder of
the game adding points from Raymond
Magorrian, Declan Grant, Connaire
Harrison, Declan Grant and Cormac
Murphy to leave the full time score
Glasdrumman 2-11 Glenn 0-3.
