GLASDRUMMAN OVERRUN BY ANNACLONE -

Glasdrumman went into this game
decimated with injuries to several key
players but still hoping to put up a
good performance.
Annaclone game out with all guns
blazing and were a goal ahead within
two minutes. Glasdrumman's Ronan
McDowell made a good save four minutes
later but Annaclone continued to run
the Glasdrumman defence ragged.
Glasdrumman' s first point came from
Connaire Harrison in the twelfth
minute, but by this time Annaclone had
scored a goal and five points.
Annaclone's attacks were relentless
and they scored a further six points
without reply before half time, the
teams going in with the score
Annaclone 1-11 Glasdrumman 0-1.
Glasdrumman replaced the injured Kevin
Burns with Sean McVeigh at half time.
The
second half was much of the same from
Annaclone who notched up another two
points within two minutes of the
restart. Connaire Harrison replied
with a second point for Glasdrumman in
the thirty third minute, but Annaclone
simply continued to turn the screw on
the game. Gary McGeevy was replaced by
Mark Trimble on forty minutes.
Annaclone scored a further two goals
and three points before Pat Mallon
knocked over a free kick for a third
and final point for Glasdrumman in the
fiftieth minute. Shaun Brennan,Sean
Cunningham, Shane O'Neill and John
McAteer replaced Raymond Magorrian,
Ronan McDowell, Connaire Harrison and
James McDowell respectively before
Annaclone closed out the game with a
further goal and two points to leave
the final score Annaclone 4-19 and
Glasdrumman 0-3.
All in
all a disappointing result, but no-one
could fault the effort from the
Glasdrumman squad for sixty minutes
and who were simply caught on an off
night by a team very much at the top
of their form.
