GLASDRUMMAN LOSE UNBEATEN HOME RUN
AT THE DEATH
Glasdrumman 1-11 Ballyholland 2-11
Ballyholland visited the Quarter
Road on Tuesday evening to face a
Glasdrumman squad determined to
continue their unbeaten home run.
Ballyholland got off to a good start
and were a goal and a point up after
only four minutes. Glasdrumman
replied with points from Sean
McDowell and Connaire Harrison to
reduce the deficit to two points
before Ballyholland increased their
lead to three again with another
point in the ninth minute. Connaire
Harrison replied for Glasdrumman
with three points in five minutes to
level the scores after fifteen
minutes, but only three minutes
later Ballyholand scored another
goal to ease them back in front.
Glasdrumman replied with the final
score of the half on twenty mniutes
with a further point from Connaire
Harrison to leave the half time
score Glasdrumman 0-6 Ballyholland
2-2.
The
second half started with a flurry of
scores, Ballyholland knocked over
two points within two minutes of the
restart, Glasdrumman replying with a
point from Raymond Clarke and a goal
from Connaire Harrison over the
following two minutes to level the
scores again. Ballyholland came back
and were ahead again with a point in
the thirty sixth minute, but
Connaire Harrison levelled the
scores again with another point two
minutes later. Over the next fifteen
minutes four points were traded
between the teams, with points from
Declan Grant and Connaire Harrison
levelling the scores each time. With
only six minutes remaining Raymond
Clarke scored a point to edge
Glasdrumman in front for the first
time in the game. The Glasdrumman
defence held out until the fifty
ninth minute when Ballyholland
levelled the scores again with
another point, and then pushed on to
score a further three points in
added time to leave the final score
Glasdrumman 1-11 Ballyholland 2-11.
Overall a good performance from
Glasdrumman who deserved to get
something from a game in which they
continually fought their way back
and were unlucky to lose out at the
end to a much fancied Ballyholland
side.
