Glasdrumman Notes 26th April 2008


GLASDRUMMAN GAC NOTES

1 The Seniors continued their unbeaten start to the season with a hard fought draw at St. Paul's on Friday evening. Their next league game is at home to Drumaness on Sunday 27th April, throw in at 5.00pm.
2 The Reserves had their first win of the season at home on Sunday. The Reserves fully deserved their win with good periods of possession football and taking their opportunities well. The final score was Glasdrumman 2-11 Clonduff 0-8, their next game is on Sunday 27th April away to Shamrocks, throw in at 6.00pm.
3 The Minor's had another good win last week over Glenn with the final score Glenn 2-2 Glasdrumman 0-10. They controlled the game for long periods, and performed especially well in the second half playing into a strong wind, limitting Glenn's scoring chances. Their next game is on Friday 25th April, at home to Mitchells, throw in at 7.15pm.
4 The first U-14 game of the season is on Thursday 1st May, away to Mitchels, throw in at 7.00pm, this weeks scheduled game against Drumgath has to re-sheduled as the game co-incided with Confirmation in Drumgath. U-14 training is each Wednesday at the Primary School pitch from 7.30pm.
5 The next U-12 game is on Sunday, 27th April away to Drumgath, throw in at 11.00am. Training is on Wednesday evenings at 7.30am. at the Primary School pitch.
6 The U-8s training has now started and continues at the Primary School pitch each Sunday at 11.00am.
7 Best wishes and a speedy recovery to Shaun Brennan who broke a toe playing for the Reserves last week.
8 The club's first Golf Classic will be held this year on Friday 4th July at Kilkeel Golf Club. The entry fee is £120 per team of four players. If anyone is interested in sponsoring a tee, green or prize or entering a team for the competition please contact club PRO, Liam Cunningham or any Committee member.
9 A presentation to the club by Newry and Mourne Mayor, Micky Cole, will take place in the clubrooms this Friday, 25th April, after the Minor game. Everyone welcome.
10 The club have purchased a new defibrillator which will also be available for use in the community. if anyone would like professional training in the use of the defibrillator please contact any Committee member.
11 New Club merchandise now available, including new kit bags. Please contact Terry Joyce for any orders.
12 Bingo as usual on Thursday night at 8.30 pm in the Clubrooms, the tote currently stands at £ 7,100.
