GLASDRUMMAN GAC NOTES 3rd NOV 08


 

1 The Seniors won their second play-off game against Ardglass in Newcastle last Sunday to secure promotion to Division 2. Their final game against Carryduff will decide the winners of Division 3. The game is in Pairc Esler this Sunday, 9th November and throw in is at 2.30pm. Good Luck Lads!
2 Friday's Halloween party was a great success. Thanks to all who helped out on the night and to the parents and children for making the activities so entertaining.


3 The U-8s had a very full social calendar this week, with their end of season treat on Saturday at The Fun House. where they enjoyed themselves immensely. Presentations were made by Club Chairman, John Brennan, to a very excited bunch of players. Congratulations to Player of the Year, Nathan Mills, Sports Person of the Year, Matthew Brennan, Most Improved Player, John Lavery and Trainer of the Year, Sean Kelly. Congratulations also to Jordan Lavery, Troy Lavery, Nathan Brennan, Martin Stevenson, Padraig Stevenson, Callum Stevenson, Caolan O'Hare, Brogan O'Hare, Katie Smith, Orla Smith, Caolem Smith, Jonathan McVeigh, Aidan McVeigh, Eoin McVeigh, Ronan McGivern, Darragh Rooney, Daniel Magee, Kerry Grant, Tara Grant and Cormac McCombe for a very successful season.
4 The Club Committee are putting together a development plan to help improve the facilities and functions of the club as a whole. We will be asking for ideas and support from club members, friends, families and the wider community to help achieve this. Some questionnaires have been distributed and we would ask they are returned completed as soon as possible. If you have not yet received a questionnaire, please contact any Committee member. Your opinion does count so please give us your opinion to allow it to count.
5 The Club, Committee and members of Glasdrumman would like to send their condolences to the McCombe and Cunningham families on the death of Sean Cunningham. Go ndeanai Dia trocaire a d’anam uasail dhilis.
6 New Club merchandise available, including new club coats, £25 for junior sizes and £30 for adult sizes. Please contact Collette Burden or Terry Joyce for any orders.
7 Bingo as usual on Thursday night at 8.30 pm in the Clubrooms, the tote currently stands at £1,800.
