Glasdrumman visited Ardglass
on Saturday evening looking to
avenge their defeat earlier in
the season. Both teams started
well with Glasdrumman scoring
the first point from Connaire
Harrison to which Ardglass replied
within a minute with a point.
The next four points were shared
with Connaire Harrison scoring
both for Glasdrumman and two in
reply for Ardglass. Glasdrumman
edged ahead after twenty minutes
with points apiece from Connaire
Harrison and Mark Trimble with
a point in reply for Ardglass.
Glasdrumman's Connaire Harrison
added his fifth point of the game
only to see a fisted goal to edge
Ardglass in front on the verge
of half time. Mark Trimble levelled
the scores with a free in added
time to leave the half time scores
Ardglass 1-4 Glasdrumman 0-7.
The second half started well for
Glasdrumman with Raymond Magorrian
pointing within a minute of the
restart. Ardglass replied with
a point to level the scores again
five minutes later which was quickly
followed by a goal to put Ardglass
three points ahead. With Ardglass
now having the upper hand, Ardglass
added a point from a free kick
almost immediately to push them
further ahead. Glasdrumman to
their credit didn't panic and
they gradually got themselves
back into the game with four points
without reply, two each from Connaire
Harrison and Mark Trimble, to
level the scores again with ten
minutes remaining. With Glasdrumman's
tails up, points from Connaire
Harrison and a Mark Trimble free
kick gave Glasdrumman the advantage
again. Both teams missed chances
in the final minutes before Glasdrumman
broke downfield in added time.
Raymond Magorrian rounded the
goalkeeper to put the ball into
the Ardglass goal to secure victory
and leave the final score Ardglass
2-6 Glasdrumman 1-14.
A good all round team performance
again from Glasdrumman, with notable
displays from Francis O'Neill,
Mark Trimble, Pat Mallon, Raymond
Magorrian and Connaire Harrison.
