First defeat of the season for Down
champions
The Down junior football champions Glen went through
the whole of the 2003 season without losing a competitive
match, but alas their record came to an end on Sunday
16th November when they were defeated by the Donegal
junior champions, Naomh Brid in the annual Ulster
Junior Club Football Championship played at the Cremartin
venue in Co. Monaghan.
They trailed the Donegal side by
four points in injury-time when Cathal O’Hare got
through for a goal for them. However, it was too little
too late as Naomh Brid held out for a 2-11 to 2-9
victory in what was a very competitive encounter.
