Mayobridge U 12's won the Kilcoo
Tournament On Easter Monday. In the first game Mayobridge
played Clonduff and won by a score of 5-03 to no score.
Mayobridge scorers: P Gribben 1 02, K McClorey 1 01,
M Annett 1 00, B Cunningham 1 00, K Quinn 1 00. The
next game Mayobridge played the host and favourites
team Kilcoo and had a strong first half performance
and led at half time by 2 02 to 1 00. In the second
half Kilcoo threw everything at Mayobridge and scored
2 more goals but the Bridge got 3 points and held
out to win by 2 05 to 3 goals after the final whistle
the Mayobridge players were ecstatic. Mayobridge scorers:
B. Cunningham 2 03, P. Gribben 0 02.
With Castlewellan and Bryansford,
the two other teams in the tournament, they did not
want too play th Mayobridge Lads due to the first
two performances. So Mayobridge were awarded the points
and with that the tournament. B Cunningham was Captain
for the day and was presented the trophy at the end
of all the proceedings and the panel was presented
the trophy at the end of all the proceedings and the
panel were presented with plaques.
