• Commiserations to the Senior
team after losing the all county
League final to Mayobridge. In a
hard fought match it was the magpies
who struck the early blow with a
goal from Gary McEvoy as they led
by 5 points at half time. Following
an early goal just minutes in to
the second half Mayobridge began
to up the pace. With just five minutes
to play the lads but up a tremendous
effort to crawl back the defecate
and despite closing the gap to just
two points they were unable to find
the little extra. Yet again this
team has given their supporters
a year of high valued football and
the club and supporters look forward
to next year when we do it all again.
• Commiserations must also
go to the U21’s after they
lost out to Bryansford in the east
down final last Sunday. In a game
that goes down as one of the best
east down finals the lads showed
true grit and determination as they
played their hearts out. It wasn’t
to be though as the game slipped
away.
• As this season finally
comes to a close the club would
like to take this opportunity to
thank all the players and mentors
of each team who represented the
club this year. Thanks also goes
to our sponsors who have supported
us throughout the year and longer.
Finally a big thank you to the fans
who continue to turn out in numbers
and at all levels making the club
one of the must support in the county.
We would like to wish everyone a
very Merry Christmas and a prosperous
New Year.
