St Bronaghs News
·
Congratulations to the
club senior team who find themselves
joint leaders of Division One after heir
2-9 to 1-10 defeat of Liatroim in Pettit
Park on Friday.Despite a first half goal
from Lloyd Parr, Reds trailed by 1-3 t0
1-6 ten minutes into the second half.
But Conor Daly inspired a great
recovery, capped by decisive goal from
Adrian Mackin towards the end.
·
Adrian was again very much
on target as he scored 5-5 in Rostrevors
6-6 to 2-9 win over Longstone in the
South Down senior sevens semi-final on
Sunday. Conor Daly scored the only goal
in the subsequent 1-3 to 1-2 win over
Saval in the final. The panel which won
Rostrevor a place in next months county
final v Kilcoo was; Ciaran Sloan;
Jarlath Farrell; Kevin McGrath; Conor
Daly; Sean Parr; Adrian Mackin; Lloyd
Parr; Aidan Farrell.
·
The reserves lost 0-6 to
1-7 in Castlewellan last week in spite
of good performances from Paul Magee and
Aidan Murray, but came back with a
thrilling 3-10 to 1-15 victory in
Mayobridge on Sunday. Joe Fegan and
Adrian Magee were outstanding, while the
goals were scored by Niall Magee, Tommy
Mone and Paul McGrath.
·
The minors were short
their six county minors for the visit of
An Riocht in the All-County Minor
League, and unsurprisingly paid the
price. Conor Sloan had won the match by
half time with his 3 goals. Rostrevors
only goal came from an Anthony Donnan
penalty late in the game.
·
The under 14s had a mixed
week. They lost by 4-3 to 4-12 against
Mayobridge in the league on Thursday.
Despite having been reduced to 14 men,
Rostrevor battled back with goals from
Mickey McVeigh[2], Ben Reynolds and Noel
Magee, and trailed by only two points
when Mayobridges numerical advantage
finally yielded two late goals to settle
the issue against a tiring Rostrevor.
But there was better luck on Saturday
when Rostrevor beat Bosco and Clonduff
in their Feile section to qualify for
next Saturdays county Feile semi-final v
Mayobridge.
·
The under 12s had a good
derby win on Sunday. Caolan Mooney was
outstanding in a 5-4 to 1-3 win over
Warrenpoint.
·
Best of luck o all our
representatives in Omagh on Sunday.

McCartan, Gary Magee and Paddy Mooney
