It has been a great start to the 2005
season for the club’s senior team , now
under the new management of Jarlath
Austin and Aidan Farrell With two rounds
of the league completed they and
Mayobridge are joint top of the table on
full points. Adrian Mackin and Lloyd
Parr scored the goals as Rostrevor
overran Longstone before a big opening
day crowd in Pettit Park.

Clonduff had also won on opening day ,
so there was great anticipation as the
Reds support headed up over Reed Hall
for last Friday’s Derby. It turned out
to be one of the most one=sided games
between these sides in years.Rostrevor
led 0-5 to 0-0 at half time and Clonduff
didn’t get their first point until the
45th minute.

Congratulations to six talented
Rostrevor tenagers. Eamonn McConville,
Colm Clerkin, Conor Mackin, Gary Magee,
Paddy Mooney and Gerard McCartan have
all been named on Mark Turley’s final
county minor panel for the championship
quarter final against Tyrone on May 22nd.
