Saul travelled to Banbridge on Friday
evening hoping to bounce back from their first defeat
in the league, but found the home side even less generous
than Dundrum the previous week. Despite having lots
of play, the Saul forwards missed a number of goal
opportunities, including a penalty, before going down
on a 1-9 to 0-5 scoreline.
Saul trailed by 0-3 to 1-4 at halftime,
the Saul scores coming from Peter McKenna 0-2 and
Donnie Ritchie 0-1. In the second half things didn’t
get any better, the Saul attack continued to be wasteful,
the only scores coming from Peter McKenna in the form
of 2 points.
Saul don’t have much to do to get
things back on line, the defence is still “tight”,
and scoring opportunities are still being created.
All is needed is for the forwards to regain their
confidence, bolstered with the return of players from
injury, and things will be back on course, and where
better to start than at Ardtole away to Ardglass.
