Dromara
defeat Saul U14's - 03/05/2004
U14 Result: Saul 3-01
to Dromara 0-15
Saul under 14's took to the field under the new management of Paul Ferris,
Cormac McCavera and Conor O'Neill against a very strong Dromara in their
home turf.
This was a very exciting match which the players responded to the new
management and made a much improved performance against Dromara compared to
previous results against Carryduff and Downpatrick who were well lead by
Eugene O'Hare. the first half went well for Saul who were into full swing
against the wind and were winning at the end of the first half thanks to a
goal from Christopher Laverty and a point from Daniel Taggart, to leave the
scoreline at 1-1 to 0-3.
The second half started well with a goal from young Rory Mullan but then it
all changed for saul and the came under pressure from the strong Dromara
midfield sectore who went on to help Dromara to score 0-6 without reply.
This would have been more without some very good saves from Niall in nets.
Saul then hit back with a goal from Conor Curran but this was to prove to be
sauls last score of the game as dromara went on to another 0-6 to leave the
final scoreline at 0-15 to 3-1. Saul had good performers in Christopher
Mullan and Philip McAvoy.
This was an improved perfomance from the under 14's and has given the young
management alot to work with over the next few games with alot of potential within the team and on this performance it won't be to long before this
young team get two points on the board.
