Gaelic in Saval in full swing - 02/03/2003
Ladies Gaelic football in the Saval
area is now in full swing, with coach Aine Keary keeping
busy between the primary school and the club. Aine
runs the after-school club at St Colman’s PS where
physical education is the name of the game. Then it’s
straight to the sports hall where she then takes coaching
sessions for boys and girls in both handball and football.
The new Under-13 girls’ team begin
their first league campaign tomorrow March 3, while
the Under-16 team are preparing for their league also.
Teams from St Colman’s PS took part in the Ulster
Primary Schools Handball Championships which were
held in Saval last weekend, and met young competitors
from all parts of Northern Ireland.

Football round-up:
The senior footballers are into their
full training programme now with new managers Gerard
Quinn and Eamon McCarthy. The Reserve team management
this year is John Paul Quinn and Seamus Fearon. Under-14
boys played a challenge game last Sunday with Mullaghbawn
and have one planned this week with Killeavy.
Irish dancing:
The Saval Hall was buzzing with Irish
dancing enthusiasts last Sunday when a large crowd
attended the Feis, organised by Sheila Nolan’s Dance
School. Irish dancing with Sheila continues every
Monda yevening at Saval.
