Saval Ladies Football News - 01st March 2005

Under-16 Girls Start Season With A Win

Burren 0-2
Saval 6-8

As the score line suggests Saval totally dominated this game. Lorraine Havern opened the Saval scoring with a well taken goal following a great pass from Natashya Lennon. Lorraine had a fine game and went on to have a personal tally of 3-2.
Others who impressed were; the versatile Niamh Mc Gowan who played in an unaccustomed centre half forward position and did well, Midfielder Niamh Millar was prominent throughout and scored 1-2, Her Midfield partner Vicki Lennon showed why she is so highly rated in the county. All the backs, including keeper Christine Mc Carthy, were sound and were never really tested. It should also be noted that there were a number of players missing on Sunday for various reasons and their return will strengthen the side even more.
Saval Panel and scorers :Christine McCarthy, Siobhan Kinney, Grace Cole, Laura Fitzpatrick, Brenda Murphy, Claudia Cole, Rachel O’Hare, Vicki Lennon(Capt), Niamh Millar (1-2), Natashya Lennon(0-3), Niamh McGowan (1-0), Anna Madine, Michaela McNulty, Ashleen McEvoy (1-1), Lorraine Havern (3-2) and Jacqueline Crozier.
