Since the opening
of the new field in Saval GAC, County
Down in April 2007, the club has
been recognised as a top playing
venue and has hosted several inter-
and intra- county games, college
football games as well as hosting
a ‘maintenance day’
on the field. The club not only
received an award from County Chairman
Kevin Bell in recognition of Field
of Excellence in Down; at the South
Down awards, Saval also received
a Chairman’s award. Now the
new field has picked up another
award.
The Association
of Landscape Contractors of Ireland
(ALCI) which is a membership organisation
which strives to raise the bar in
terms of quality projects delivered
to clients, has awarded the Saval
field with the Best Sportsground
in Northern Ireland, for the ‘exemplary
standard of landscaping’.
This is a fantastic achievement
for both the Saval club and contractors,
Tony Patterson Sportsground Ltd.
Tony Patterson stated “we
are delighted to have won the Sportsground
Category for the construction of
the new pitch for Saval GAC, and
we would like to wish Saval Club
the very best for the coming season
in the first division”.
