Girls win under-13 League Final
18/05/2003
Saval girls started this League
final dominating the opening
ten minutes of play. However
the majority of the rest of
the first half left Burren with
possession. This possession
did not pay off, as the scores
at the end of the first half
were scoreless for Burren with
Saval having a 1-5 lead. At
half-time there were a few adjustments
made to the Burren side which
made all the difference in the
second half. Burren again held
the majority of the possession
throughout the second half,
with huge support from the Burren
supporters when Emily Browne
put a score on the scoreboard.
Siofra Murdock scored two great
goals followed by another fine
goal from Mairead Trainor, leaving
just four points between the
two sides. However the Saval
team charged ahead but Mairead
Trainor wasn’t giving up just
yet scoring a final goal before
the whistle blew. The final
score was Burren 4-1 to Saval
3-9.
