Shamrocks put
up good fight against Saval
Shamrocks 4-06 Saval 6-13
SHAMROCKS, who were winning in the early
stages of this very exciting game against
Saval, put up a strong fight, but Saval’s
persistence wore them down. Shamrock’s
full back line held Saval’s forwards
in the first half but changes to the
full back line was the loosing of the
game for Shamrocks - but this was not
to take away from Saval’s brilliant
scoring throughout the second half.
In this game we saw the best Shamrocks’
forward performance of the three games
played in the league.
On a high note this week for shamrocks:
three players made the minor county
team and they are Sarah Jayne Mooney
(capt.) Sarah Jane Quinn and Patrice
Gorman. Niamh Rafferty and Charlene
Courtney made the Down-u-16 team and
finally the Fegan twins, Orla and Sinead,
were selected for the u-14 County team.
This is all put down to the hard work
and effort that the girls put in each
week at football. Only to think that
twelve months ago Shamrocks hadn’t even
got a ladies team. What an achievement!
