St John’s Notes 20th
June
In the
past week most of the activity was
restricted to the training pitch and the
committee room, with only the minors
kicking a ball in earnest.
Unfortunately the minors went out of the
championship, suffering a four point
defeat at the hands of Newry Boscos. The
team played well but it wasn’t enough on
the night. The team have one outstanding
game against Teconnaught in the league.
Once
again there was a terrific turnout of
ladies for football training last
Wednesday, and hopefully that will
continue this evening and on the next
number of Wednesday evenings and will
set us up for a few challenge games.
A lot
of work has gone into organising the
festival which starts tomorrow evening
with a juvenile disco, continues on
Friday with a Poker Night, builds on
Saturday with Barry Doyle and his band
and climaxes on Sunday with The Chevy’s.
The
lottery numbers drawn on the 16th
June were 4, 10, 20 and 24. Seven
players matched three numbers. The
lottery jackpot now stands at three and
a half thousand pounds.
