St John’s hosted an under 8’s blitz on
Saturday 26th August. The
teams included Kilcoo, Teconnaught,
Loughinisland and Drumaness and a good
time was had by all. St John’s started
the proceedings against Kilcoo - this
was a tightly fought but high scoring
contest and very enjoyable. Kilcoo
snatched it luckily by a point.
Loughinisland started off against
Teconnaught with a very determined win
and they continued this impressive
performance against Drumaness.

St John’s next encounter was against
Drumaness where Drumaness showed
strength in all three thirds of the
pitch and ran out clear winners.

In the last match of the day St John’s
were up against Kilcoo again. St John’s
didn’t need much of a team talk as
Kilcoo had beaten them earlier by a
point. The game started of with Kilcoo
taking the first two scores. St John’s
midfield started to show their dominance
and fed great balls to the forward line
who took some great scores. St John’s
went in at the half up. The second half
was dominated by some great football
from both sides all over the field. The
difference at the end of the game was St
John’s took their chances. The standard
of football from all 5 teams was very
impressive.

We would like to thank St Johns new
referee Cormac McMullan and the three
under 14’s Neil Magorrian, Ryan Gordan
and Daniel McKay for a job well done.
