St John’s Notes 15th
Nov
St John’s had five entries in the Scór
na nÓg this year with two of those, solo
singer Martin Cunningham and the Set
Dance group of
Martina Cunningham, Catherine Walsh,
Siobhan Walsh, James Walsh, Shane Rice,
Aoife McClean, Derbhla Arkins and Neil
Magorrian progressing to Sunday’s East
Down final. We are now looking forward
to County final in St Malachy’s High
School on Sunday 26th.
We are grateful to the teams that didn’t
make it so far, but also performed well.
So commiserate with Quiz Team (Ryan
Gordon, Neil Magorrian and Martin
Keenan), Solo singer Daniel McKay and
the Instrumental Music trio (Siobhan,
Catherine and James Walsh). We extend
our thanks for your efforts, and also to
Gerard Magorrian for coaching the quiz
team.
Pep Keenan (4377 8712) will be running a
Christmas club between now and the end
of the year for anyone wishing to
purchase club merchandise.
There were no winners on the lottery on
2nd November when the numbers
were 6, 15, 17 and 24. There were four
£10 winners last Thursday when the
numbers were 11, 15, 18 and 22. The
jackpot stands at £1,200.
We extend our congratulations to
committee member Gerard King on the
birth his daughter, a second girl, and
also to his wife Catherine who we
understand was also involved.
Our Annual General Meeting will be held
on Sunday 26th November at
2.00pm. Nominations for committee posts,
motions and recommendation should be
with Paddy O’Neill by 19th
November.
We extend our sympathy to the family and
friends of Marie Furphy. May she Rest in
Peace.
