St John's Notes 3rd October 2007

St John’s Notes 3rd October 2007

All under-8s should be at the club at 10.00am on Sunday for a trip to Kilcoo. These will be the last games of the season. All players should bring a water bottle.

As the playing season winds up we must turn our attention to the cultural side of things. If anyone is interested in entering either the Scór or Scór na nÓg competitions, or helping out in any way, please contact Pep Keenan, Caroline McKay or Eoin Walsh. The East Down semi-finals are scheduled for 28th October and 4th November with the final on 11th November (all Sundays). The All county final will be on Sunday 25th November.

The lottery numbers last Thursday were 7, 8, 13 and 16 – there was only one £10 winner and the jackpot is now £2,300.

There will be fitness evenings in the Aughlisnafin Hall every Thursday, starting on Thursday 11th from 7.00-8.00pm. The cost will be £2.50 per session.

There will be a Poker night in the clubrooms next Friday (12th); watch out for news of Bingo too.

Our Senior Presentation Night and Dinner Dance will be on Saturday October 27th – this is earlier than usual and is timed to mark our thirtieth anniversary.

The county board are running a series of coaching workshops over the next few weeks. These are aimed at coaches working with, or intending to work with, juvenile players from under-8 through to under-16. On Wednesday 3rd October there will by a “FUNdamentals” workshop (for under-6 and under-8s), on Thursday 11th there will be a “Learn to Train” workshop (under-10 and under-12) and on Thursday 18th there will be a “Train to Train” workshop (u-14 and under-16). These are FREE to all club coaches and will start at 7.30pm. The venue will be St Malachy’s High School
