St John's Notes 12th September 2007
The 50th edition of our club bulletin is
out now. This full colour production looks
back over the high and lows of the last five
years as covered in the previous 49 editions.
We’ve had five adult championship finals,
numerous juvenile championship and league
success as well as Ulster and All-Ireland
achievements in that period. If your copy
normally comes in through your letter box
and hasn’t arrived by the weekend please
give Kevin McGlynn a shout on 078 396 0804.
Otherwise copies are available in the clubrooms.
Please take one, even if you’re not
a subscriber. Our camogie team have already
given us a success to shout about should we
ever make it to number 100.
Unfortunately our senior footballers were
unable to make it to another final when they
came up against a very resolute Drumaness
side on Sunday in Castlewellan. We opened
well but once Drumaness got into their stride
there was only going to be one winner and
they maintained their 100% record, and may
be favourites for the final against Newry
Bosco.
Our minors entertained Bryansford on Monday
evening.
Our under-10s and under-8s are still training
away on Wednesday evenings. Its important
that they maintain their good attendance record
as we will be hosting the last East Down U-10
Go Games Blitz on Saturday 22nd, and obviously
we will want to do well in that. Gerard Magorrian
is also trying to arrange a few more games,
so all players need to keep coming along to
training.
While everyone attention is turned to school
uniforms it is worth noting that Pep Keenan
had received a further supply of hoodies,
rugby shirts, and rain jackets in the club
colours.
The management committee meet on Monday 17th
at 9.00pm.
We extend our sympathies to the family and
friends of Patrick Flynn.
Our poker nights return this Friday (14th),
and will continue on the second Friday of
each month.
