St Pauls 2-14 v
Bright 2-2
The under 12s
avenged their only league defeat
to date with a fairly comfortable
defeat of Bright at a drizzly
McNamee Park on Monday night.
Although the
game started quite evenly, St
Pauls stole a march through a Sean
Toal goal and a couple of points
from Shane Johnston and Ryan
Dempsey, assuming a lead that they
would never relinquish. Converted
frees from Sean Toal and Daniel
Eastwood left the home side 1-6 to
0-1 ahead at half time.
An early second
half Bright strike left just 5
points in the game but St Pauls
worked tirelessly all over the
pitch. Jack Brennan was a rock at
full back assisted by Dominic
O'Brien while Aaron McGrattan
continues to impress at centre
half. All the forwards looked
for ball throughout and the game
petered out with St Pauls well on
top. The scoreboard ticked over
with a series of frees to the home
side and a 2-14 scoreline into the
smaller juvenile nets represents a
fine return at any level!
The win leaves
us joint top of the league with
Dromara. Thanks to all of those who
provided vocal support and we look
forward to our away trip to
Ballykinlar on Sunday 26th June,
5pm throw in. Please assemble at
Spafield at 3 30pm. All support
welcomed!
