Teconnaught GFC
Notes
U12's played St
Johns on Sunday however, they were
unsuccessful in clinching the
final result. Conor Greene had an
outstanding game at midfield and
Ben Casement starred in the
forward line. Aidan Mcdonald,
James Greene & Niall Owens also
put in excellent performances for
the Red & Navy however, the result
was not to be. Training continues
on Wednesday night from 7 - 8pm
and all players are asked to
attend.
The Seniors
played Bredagh at home on Thursday
night and unfortunately were
unsuccessful in claiming the
points. The team were missing a
number of players with David
McGreevy in America and Niall
Mulholland, Ross McLeigh and
Damian Mulholland all injured but
this was not the excuse for a poor
performance. Teconnaught only
scored 1 point in the 1st half and
this came from a John Young free.
Bredagh scored their 1st goal
after 11 minutes and got their 2nd
in the 19th minute to bring the
half-time score to 2-5 to 0-1.
Teconnaught came out in the 2nd
half and things looked promising
when Connor Brennan scored a point
with a minute of the re-start and
Ronan Sweeney, Paul Mulholland and
Connor Brennan again pointed
within the space of 4 minutes.
Bredagh made sure that Teconnaught
were not going to get the points
when they scored their 3rd goal 9
minutes into the 2nd half and
eventually added a 4th to seal the
victory.Connor Brennan lost his
concentration and was red carded
after taking his frustration out
on the referee and Henry Green
also made the sideline sooner than
anticipated when he was sent off
for a 2nd bookable offence with 1
minute to go. Teconnaught need to
up their performance and work rate
if they are to overcome Bosco at
home on Friday night. @ 715pm.
All support
would be welcome and the Clubrooms
will be open after the match for
refreshments.
Reserves match
against Darragh Cross did not take
place on Sunday night as the
referee failed to show up and so
this match will be re-arranged
however, the 2nds did play Kilcoo
in the reserve Championship on
Monday night.
The Grand Draw
was launched in the Club on Monday
night and ticket sellers will be
out knocking doors in the coming
days and weeks. We ask that every
member of the Club purchases at
least 1 ticket as any money raised
will be for the purpose of
building the new sports hall which
is in the long-term development of
the Club. If anyone would like to
assist with the ticket selling
please contact any committee
member who will be happy to accept
your invite. We would most like to
hear from juvenile parents as
their children will be the main
beneficiaries from this project.
Hypnotist
Michael McCoy will appear in the
Clubrooms on Saturday 7th July.
Doors open 8pm and bar will be
open late. Admission is £10.00 and
is payable at the door on the
night. Come along and see everyone
make an eejit of themselves as
those who did not attend last time
deeply regretted it.
Club Tracksuits
are now in stock and can be
purchased from Denis McGrath. All
tracksuits must be paid for when
they are received.
