TECONNAUGHT GFC NOTES

- Seniors played Shamrocks on Sunday 24th February in Derryleckeagh Pitches as Pairc Esler was undergoing construction work on the playing surface. The game started in wintry conditions which hindered scoring opportunities in the 1sh half with the scorline at half-time reading Teconnaught 0-2 Shamrocks 0-1. Niall Mulholland opened the 2nd half with a point and Shamrocks quickly replied with 2 points before scoring a goal to take the lead 1-3 to 0-3. Paul Mulholland Connor Brennan notched over points but again Shamrocks matched these scores. The game finished Shamorcks 1-8 Teconnaught 0-8 and while the team was obviously disappointed with the result they did put in a tremeandous amount of effort and worked tirelessly throughout the game. Gary Fitzsimons and David McGreevy covered an enormous amount of ground over the hour and put in excellent performances on the day.

- Senior Ladies also played a friendly match on Sunday against Loughinisland however, they were unfortunate as well and could not come away with a win.

- Well done to Nicole Mulholland who played on the victorious U14 Down Ladies team who beat Louth on Saturday. Unfortnately, her team mate Jennifer Green was unable to make the match as she was ill so get well soon Jennifer.
