Teconnaught Notes 30th July 2008

*Senior team was in the final of the Connolly cup on friday against holders Ardglass,an entertaining game of football which Teconnaught had good performance in the first half with S Madine and D mullholland on top form in this period. The second half Ardglass started playing and found their forwards who kicked some good points ,Teconnaught had a late charge with fifteen minutes to go and H Greene was unlucky not to score what would have been the winning goal in the last minute ,but it was Ardglass who ran out winners by two points. The next match is away to Saul on friday night and home to Glassdrumman on monday night.
*Under 10 team was at the blitz in Downpatrick and played very good football against Breadgh,Downpatrick, and Bryansford, managers Dominic Mulholland and Seamus Madine have worked well with this team and all players fought very hard in all three matches.
*Under 12 team hosted Ardglass at the rann road and what a turn around ,Ardglass was a team we did not remember from playing earlier in the year a much bigger and and more mature under 12 team than our previous encounter.Teconnaught had a man of the match performance from James Greene who was outstanding in defence where he was assisted by A Mc Donald and D Mc Greevey and M Owens.Up front B Casement and K Johnstone were on fine form.
*Cul Camp is at Teconnaught on the 11th to 15th August any players wishing to particapate should contact club co ordinator Dominic Mulholland before all places are filled up please dont leave it till last minute.
*Again we have more people on the move down under to Austriala, club secreatary Michelle Pollock commite member Stacey Carville and former player Maria Mc Keown. We would like to wish the girls all the best and say a big thanks to Michelle and Stacey for all the work they did over the year,i think there will be a lot of phone calls to Michelle when she is in oz as she provides most members with info including myself.Entertainment will be in the club rooms on the 8th of August and everyones invited good music on the night and the girls have asked me to inquire if any lads would be up for the full monty, all the best girls and bon voyage.
